“A robust sense of collectivism in China can imply that cyberbullying, when perpetrated as a symbolic act of violence or aggression in the direction of others in a public place, can result in drastic measures, equivalent to suicide, to flee this sense of humiliation,” says Okay Cohen Tan, vice-chancellor on the College of Nottingham Ningbo in China.
